Uni-Charm Malaysia Employees joined hands with the City Council
in Clean Up & Mosquitoes Larvae Destroy Activity under #MamyPokoAgainstDengue Campaign
On June 23, 2024, In conjunction with Asean Dengue Awareness Month, MamyPoko collaborated with Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to spearhead a cleanup and destroy mosquitoes larvae breeding ground, which is critical step to tackle the rising of dengue cases at one of the dengue hotspot in Petaling Jaya.
The event successfully garnered 58 Uni-Charm Malaysia volunteers, along with 20 volunteers from MBPJ and the Petaling Jaya Health District Office on the cleanup and eliminating mosquitoes larvae breeding sites. MamyPoko ANTIMOS™ Pants were also distributed to residents to protect their babies to repel mosquitoes.
Petaling Jaya’s Mayor, Yang Berusaha Tuan Haji Mohamad Zahri Samingon, supported the initiative and happy with the collaboration forged for this campaign, which is also in line with MBPJ’s 18th anniversary celebration theme, emphasizes keeping Petaling Jaya, a city clean and safe. He commended all participants for their effort and dedication to public health and effort to raise awareness to curb the rising dengue cases.
Group Managing Director of Uni-Charm Corporation (Malaysia & Singapore), Toru Fujita is commented #MamyPokoAgainstDengue campaign was held annually with relevant organization to create awareness and encourage communities to take precautions and action to prevent from dengue, and is pleased to collaborate with MBPJ this year and contribute to keeping Petaling Jaya clean and safe from dengue.
In summary, the event was successfully executed and featured in 5 mainstream newspapers in both print and digital, social news websites, blogs, social media reaching an estimated total audience of 2.2million.
